The main functions of a sludge centrifuge can be summarized in two aspects: dewatering and thickening.

Dewatering: This is its most common and important function. Many industries produce sludge with high water content and large volume, making direct transportation or disposal costly and inconvenient. Centrifuges, through high-speed rotation, can significantly reduce the water content of sludge, reducing its volume and weight. The resulting sludge cake is easier to transport, landfill, or utilize for resource recovery.

Thickening: In some process stages, it is necessary to increase the concentration of sludge. Centrifuges can quickly thicken thin sludge into a thicker sludge with a higher solids content to meet the requirements of subsequent treatment processes.
