Three-phase horizontal screw centrifuges have demonstrated significant advantages in the treatment of oily sludge. They can separate not only solids from the sludge but also the oily residue, a process unmatched by other methods. Furthermore, the moisture and oil content of the dried sludge treated by the three-phase horizontal screw centrifuge decreases to varying degrees.

A comparative table of the oily sludge treated by vacuum filtration and three-phase horizontal screw centrifuges is presented below: The average moisture content of dried sludge treated by vacuum filtration from January to June 1997 is compared with that of dried sludge separated by three-phase horizontal screw centrifuges from January to June 2001. The comparison reveals that in 2001, the average moisture content of the dried sludge decreased by 613% after adopting the three-phase horizontal screw centrifuge. This reduced moisture content decreases both the amount of sludge transported and the cost of transportation, and the amount of oily sludge entering the environment, thus reducing environmental pollution. Based on these comparisons, the three-phase horizontal screw centrifuge is highly effective in treating oily sludge.
